Working with Veterans and Active-Duty Military

About the Course

With a shortage of health care professionals on military installations and in the VA system across the nation, increasing numbers of active-duty service members and veterans are seeking mental health care from clinicians in the community.

The information shared in this course will help participants develop the knowledge and skills needed to conduct culturally competent mental health evaluations and deliver empathic treatment to active-duty service members and veterans. Participants will improve their understanding of military culture and identify specific clinical challenges that could potentially negatively impact the delivery of care provided to this vulnerable population.
