Working With Trans Youth and Their Families

About the Course

Over the last three years, a record number of anti-trans legislation have been proposed and passed across nearly every state in America. The vast majority of these legislations target transgender and non-binary (trans) youth and their families. As a result, trans youth are experiencing increased mental health symptoms including persistent anxiety and suicidality. Although many mental health professionals want to support trans youth, few have been trained working with trans youth. Further, even fewer mental health professionals have received training on how to work with family members of trans youth.

This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview and case examples of working with trans youth and their families, including evaluating, diagnosing and treating Gender Dysphoria in minors and supporting parents. This webinar will also equip mental health professionals with concrete clinical tools for more compassionate, effective care for trans youth and their families.
